I've noticed rust forming under the paint (bubbling paint) on the front edge of my hood. It is in several spots along this edge. No chips to let water in. 2016 w/ Silver paint.
Does anyone else have this issue?

Yes, many.

Some get it repaired under warranty while others can't.

Does anyone know the warranty limitations of having the hood replaced? The van was bought new in march 2016 and has like 50k miles.

I had about 60000 miles on ours when they put a new hood on and painted it . Covered under the corrosion warranty even though it wasn't technically rust through . They know they have a major issue with this. This has been a problem since the 2002 model change though they were still steel back then .

Hi Mikemaker13,
To answer your question, page 8 of your warranty booklet states, "For sheet metal panels, the limit is 36 months, with no mileage limit. For an outer-body sheet metal panel — one that is finish-painted and that someone can see when walking around the vehicle— the limits are 5 years or unlimited miles on the odometer, whichever occurs first." You may also view your warranty booklet by clicking on the following link: https://msmownerassets.z13.web.core.windows.net/assets/publications/en-us/Chrysler/2016/Town_Country/78.pdf. Please feel free to send us a private message if you have any additional questions.

Brought my 2016 in yesterday. Guy looked tired of looking at corroded hoods. Told me not to expect to hear anything for several weeks waiting for approval because so many are in line before me. Said they will repaint my hood and blend the paint - if approved that is.

Any self respecting body shop will refuse to repair it. There is no way to prevent it coming back. I have asked about at 2 body shops. replacement is the only way to go.

The model changed for 2001, and it wasn't aluminum until 2008. Not to say the steel ones weren't an issue.

The body shop fixing a dent said they could fix it but not guarantee it. The dealer said they would paint the hood. I dont know.

Our 2013 T&C got its hood resprayed a few years ago. I just noticed that the bubbling had come back. I took it to the dealer and they told me too bad, the warranty was up. Nice !!
