should be prety straight foreward.I honestly do not know jack about 3.0's, in my case there are difereces in 3.3's from diferent year, same generation, flexplate for one, but if you stick with a long block swap you should be fine.
From what I can find on this subject, all the 3.0's are the same across the board the only difference is the distributor changed in 1996 and the injectors and wiring harness. The crank sensors started in 1996 too but they are in the tranny so that shouldn't be any issue
