    Time for new front axles.

Hopefully you'll become more enlightened as you age; such thinking is more indicative of my ancestors generations and certainly not ecologically sound in this day and age.

If you have so little time, then why do you change synthetic oil so frequently? I ask because neither the oil or the filter will even be half used up by the time you replace it. Seems like wasted time and money if you ask me.
  4. oil change reminder?? How does it work?

    5th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2008-2019
If you look up to my first post in this thread you will see there is no such a thing as a sensor to determine the quality of the oil, the indicator is simply based upon an algorithm which determines when the minimum quality oil as specified by Chrysler will be exhausted. It has nothing to do...

Only true for some vans. All four of our vans clearly stated every other oil change.

Wow, thanks for the laugh, the author of those comments is indeed a Certified USDA Choice Idiot. :D

Unless you are going to practice very long oil filter change intervals, like 15,000 miles or more, then a Royal Purple oil filter is a waste of money.

Interesting, we sold our 2003 something like eight years ago, Owner's Manual included, but I know we went through this discussion here maybe ten years ago and I posted the images of our (then) 1998 DGC Sport and 2003 DGC ES. I do not understand, nor can I explain why yours say one thing and my...

Neither Honda or Chrysler (other than the 2.7 V6) were known for sludging engines. Looking inside the rocker cover of the 3.8 in my T&C the rocker arms are literally spotless and nice and shiny; the same thing applies to my two Honda V6 engines.

Not sure what you're reading, but both of our 1998s, our 1999, and our 2003 all specifically stated oil changes every-other oil change.
  11. 2019 spinning tires on icy steep driveway— cause damage?

If the speedometer indicated 60 mph, then that is the speed of the one rotating wheel, not 120.

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
The early Gen 4 (and older) vans came from the factory with, and specified in the Owner's Manual, the medium sized filter; those filters were rated for 15,000 miles of use (i.e. every other oil change). It wasn't until the smaller filter was used that Chrysler shorted the oil filter change...

When navigating a FWD vehicle up a steep slippery slope, do it in reverse, that lets the natural weight transfer work in your favor. Think about it, when you going up forward, weight transfer due to the slope will unload the front wheels and load the back wheels, basically the opposite of what...

Same here, if you ever get up to New Hampshire, we've got eleven ranging from small(ish) Saddlebreds up through a couple of Belgians; the trails around here up through the northern woods and abandoned 19th century granite quarries make for great places to ride.

With the venerable 3.3 and 3.8 liter V6 engines, you can easily go 10,000 miles on an oil change. I've been doing that since the 1990s on all of our vans, and have even sent out four used oil samples for analysis, and they have all come back showing the contaminates and additive package were...

No worries, I was joking as well. :)

Wow, you 61 and 62 year old guys are scaring me with your health issues; hopefully 63 will be immune from such issues as I'll hit that threshold pretty soon. :p

Well folks, it looks like @real driver is just a flyby; I'm thinking to give this thread another 24 hours on the off chance he shows up again and makes a better case for a ripoff, and if not, I'll close the thread.
