Code 23 shows up in the trip odo display using the trip/reset code reading method, but not on an OBD scanner which shows only P0403 which is a fault with the EGR solenoid or valve.

The code list says "incoming air temp sensor" and mistypotato wrote "Check this...Code 23 Vehicle Speed Sensor". Road ripper says "The 1997-2000 3.3 and 3.8 also have an IAT sensor...on the backside of the throttle body, so hard to see." So code 23 might be either one?

So...is the code 23 on my 99 anything to be concerned about if it doesn't show up on the scanner? And if it is, what might I check first? Could 23 be related in any way to the OBD EGR code? And does anyone know if the Chrysler codes are stored separately from the OBDII codes the scanner reads?

It was my understanding that the IAT was built into the MAP. There is a little nub on the underside I noticed when I changed mine out.
