how hard is it to replace a burnt out light bulb behind the speedometer?
its the bulb that lights up the first 25 mph.
is it a pain? should i replace all of them while im in there?

It's not very difficult. It is easy to remove and replace the cluster. The hardest part is removing the bulb from the plastic housing. You can buy the bulbs already in the housings. They cost a little more and in my experience they are harder to find. I don't remember the bulb number, but do a search here and I'm sure you'll find it.

There are a total of 8 bulbs back there--one each for the fuel and temperature gauges, and three each for the speedometer and tachometer (if you don't have a tach, I don't know how many bulbs, but there are not more than 8, and probably 5 or 6). Yes, you should replace all 8 bulbs when you do this. Since all of the bulbs are 5 or 6 years old, it is likely you will break a filament in at least one of the other bulbs, just from the impact of removing and reinstalling the gauge cluster. If you don't replace all of them, you'll have to take it out again and replace them anyway (That's what I had to do).

Definitely one of those jobs where the satisfaction of doing the job is greater than the work involved.

Try using the search function for detailed instructions about removing the dash panels etc. Search "INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHTS". There are quite a few tips already in those threads that will help you. They were the first threads I used on this forum and they really helped. Since then, i have fixed several things I might not have tried without this forum. Good Luck.
