My wife just brought home a new outside air temp sensor that the dealer just sold her to fix the temperature error in the overhead display of her 98 Voyager. They told her the sensor is located "behind the grill". Does'nt that apply to 99% of the vehicle? Can someone tell me where to find this sensor?

'behind the grille' would be under the hood at the very front. The grille they are referring to is the thing between the two headlights.

I don't have a van of that generation so I don't know for sure, but the temp sensor would have to be close to the grille, probably immediately behind it. If it were any more than a few inches away from the grille, the sensor would get warmed by the heat from the engine and show an inaccurate reading.

Here is how the 2002 mini service manual says to get to it. This is on the new gen mini, not yours, but may work. You have the new one in your hand so you know what you are looking for. Check it out.
