This one is really puzzling me. The fuel filter on my '01 Voyager 3.3 is tucked on top the the fuel tank. It has three fuel lines going into it and I can't figure out how to disconnect two of them. I borrowed the fuel line removal tool from my local Murray's auto part store (same as this one), but it doesn't seem to have enough clearance to get underneath the fuel line. Anyone else have better luck?
No specials tools needed, although pliers might help. Simply squeeze the tabs seen in the square openings.
Lowering the tank first makes it easier. You can also cut the lines on the old filter.
It will allow to rotate the connectors for better access.
The van has 190K miles. I suspect that the filter will last the typical life of a vehicle, but this one has lived much longer than that. It's cheap insurance.
