    Flickering lights

I just bought a 2002 Town&Country with 71k miles. The interior lights as well as the headlights flicker. I have read on line that this is a common problem with many minivans and that the NHSTA was after Chrysler to address the issue. But I can't find and current info as to how the problem was resolved. Does anyone one know what Chrysler did about this? Is there a fix?

    Flickering lights

I went back to the dealer yesterday to have the serpentine belt changed since I don't know when it was changed last and mentioned the flickering lights. He knew nothing about it, no TSP bullentins, checked for codes and it had none. He did mentioned there was an issue with the headlight switch but he didn't know if that caused my light problem. My headlights don't go out completely and then back on, just a pulsating dimming and then brighter scenario. All the lights in the van do it, interior, dash, headlights. I guess if that is my only problem, I wont worry about it.
    Thanks for the feed back

Hmmm, years ago I had a friend bring me a car (a 1970s vintage Dodge) that had a similar problem. Turned out that whoever had worked on his car at some point in the past had forgotten to reattach the ground strap between the body of the car and the engine. I hooked it up and presto, problem solved.

My 2001 does exactly the same thing. I also would like, LOVE, to know the fix. Dash and headlights pulsate dimming. (The headlights on these vans are dim at best without any problems.) I changed the alternator and that did not fix it. I change the alt. for another reason but though it may have been the internal regulator or something.

Hello, I am from automotiveforums, not having much luck with this issue there so I thought I'd try here. Both mine do it, the 01 is more noticable, the 04 not as bad. Both are Limited, tow package, 04 is AWD. I was told the voltage regulator was built into the PCM. I replaced it, there was something wrong with it anyway, was covered under a special emissions warranty. All PCM's have the extended 80,000/8year warranty. Anyways, I have replaced the batt, alt, starter, belt, PCM, ground wires/straps, and no improvment. I replaced the starter cause I've heard they can short somewhat causing a drain in power. I also noticed the TV's do it to which are not part of the headlight wiring. I plugged a 12 light into the power points both front and rear and the light flickers too. I have just about checked every ground on the 01, and the main power wires and all are good. Before all this investment, I did see the lights dim pretty bad sometimes like when the transmission is downshifting to a stop but after replacing all these parts it was not as bad but still flickered, and is now getting worse again, to the point I wonder if I'm going to get pulled over. Figured take it to the dealer for a tune up, plugs, wires, oil, all filters, fuel injection cleaning, but no luck. I have cleaned all electrical connectors with elec. spray. I hope some of this info will save some of you some money. I have not found anything through NHSTD, and I called Chrysler and they have no info on this.

    850 in parts I bought
1150 for PCM includes 150 for dealer labor
1347 for tune up and rear sway bar links

3347 invested to try to fix this flicker. Getting a refund from Chrysler for PCM soon, plus minus 260.00 for rear sway issue. So more like $1937.00. 01 Van has 78,000 miles on it.

Is there any answer to a fix? Thanks

    flicker

You will see the lights flicker if the cooling fans come on at night as the fans take a fair amount of juice when they first power on .

I do see the lights dim when the fans come on, it is just for a second though. The problem I'm having is the lights, all power, flickers like explained in the other responses.
