    08 t&c rear ves system

I am not sure if we just don't get how to use this system or if it is not working.

We just bought a used 08 t&c touring with dual rear dvd screens. We can't figure out how to get those to work. The 1st one won't even turn on. The 3rd row comes on but shows a split screen. We put a dvd in the lower dvd player up front but NOTHING happens in the back. If we put one in the navigation system, it will begin to play up front while in park but it won't play in the back. The books show to make selections on the navigational screen but they are ghosted out.

Anyone have a similar system they can help me with?

Sounds like there is an issue with the second screen, and that is what is causing the issues for you.

Can you take a picture of the VES page on your radio?

    It should look like this

There is a TSB for the 2008 model that is related to the VES. Take a peek below and see if this may be what your experiencing.
    TSB 08-027-07

    SUBJECT:
Flash: VES (Over Head Video Screen) Is Not Powering ON

    OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Video Entertainment System (VES) with new software.

    SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
VES (Over Head Video Screen) is not powering ON; but VES is active on the bus and is responding to all the diagnostic commands with StarSCAN® or StarMOBILE.

NOTE: If vehicle is a RT and equipped with dual rear video screens be sure to flash both units.

This bulletin applies to the above listed vehicles equipped with the VES (sales code XRV or RDJ or RF5) built before January 1, 2008
