The motor going out is the most common, you can try tapping the motor housing with a solid object while pressing the switch to see if it starts moving, if it does, most likely the brushes are worn out.
I have read on here that some people have taken the motor apart and bent the terminals to make better contact to the rotor, this may be only a temporary fix.
Yeah me too, first thing I would do is open up the door panel and get to the motor, Isolate it and maybe even tak eit out if it is seperable from the regulator, and on a workbench put 12V to it to see if it works.
I have not looked in detail at mine or any chrysler van windo motor setup so I don't know if it's seperable. You can leave it in place and unplug it and bring 12V to it with wires from the battery, and while you're there test to see if the other half of that plug has 12V when you hit the switch.
Since the van has been sitting for awhile, perhaps the window glass is stuck to its tracks. Can you move the window glass some to loosen it? The motor has overload protection and will disconnect quickly under high enough resistance.
You should plan on replacing the regulator assembly soon before it stops working and won't come back to life at all. That makes replacing the regulator more difficult if it is stuck in the wrong spot.
Sounds like the glass was stuck in its tracks from sitting so long. Likely needs a little silicone lubricant on the tracks. It won't hurt to remove the panel and lubricate the cable, pulleys and gears.
Mine gets lubricated via the rustproofing I spray in the door cavity (up through the drain holes, using a wand). Products like Fluid Film, Rust Check, Rust Block and Rust Cure Formula 3000 are great lubricants as well as rust inhibitors.
