Brake warning light,on intermittenly, not abs light

The brake light started coming on and then off, it got more frequently. I looked in the Haynes manual no mention of anything would help narrow it down, I have meters some knowledge of electronics. The wiring diagrams just show drivers for light? The brakes seem to work OK. Had the codes read and everything looked OK, except the ABS system indicated an low ref voltage. Not sure what the connection, could be with the two systems, as the ABS light is not on and there is no codes.

This began on mine recently and it was simply the low fluid level sensor triggering it.

That (fluid level) should be the first thing to check.

Just a thought... it could be the disc pads have worn down such that they displace less brake fluid in the system, so the amount in fluid in the brake reservoir goes down and triggers the warning indicator.

Our vans have done this when the fluid level gets low. It will do it more in the cold weather. After a few stops, and the engine warms up the fluid expands enough to raise the float enough to turn the light off.
