I've got a leak in the air conditioner and I'm pretty sure it's coming from under the dash (the car does have a rear unit as well). Big enough to leak the system down overnight.
Before I pull the dash to try and find it, are there any suggestions, "usual suspects," or common failure points to look for first? Thanks.
Your evaporator core is probably bad. If it is the original one, you got very good life out of it. If you plan on keeping the van for more years, you might want to replace the rear one too and all the O rings in the system to help avoid any other leaks from old seals.
Maybe a good idea to check the low pressure cutoff switch as well (located near the firewall) they were known to leak, I had that problem with my 89.
Un-screw the switch from the nipple and do another pressure test overnight.
