Thanks! You just helped a bunch. Look's like I'll be able to tackle that and finish it in about 1/2hr.

Yep, a pretty simple job. Just make sure the tstat is put in the correct way (not upside down) and you use a new gasket on clean surfaces.

Replace the Housing and the hose also. Both cheap insurance at this point.

I just changed the thermostat and now it's leaking coolant from around the thermostat. I changed the gasket on the thermostat two times, what could be the problem? I'm going out in a little bit to buy another gasket (for the 3rd time). Any ideas?

Okay, nvm the 3rd gasket worked, no more leak. You know what they say, third time is always a charm!

Couple of things might be wrong. Are you sure it is leaking around the thermostat housing and not around the hose clamp area (and giving the appearance of the gasket)?
You may not have cleaned the thermostat housing mating surfaces completely. Make sure there is no leftover material on either surface. And you made sure the thermostat was seated and centered(the lip not catching the housing and in the correct direction).
If all else fails you could use a little RTV on the surface but I would really try to get at the gasket working first.

EDIT: Your "success" post just showed up. Never mind.
