MyGig MyWay - get video on front screen while moving

I just found that somebody is selling some hacked REN MyGig firmware that will let you view video on the front screen while moving.

Anybody tried it? I'm tempted to, but I don't know if it's worth $35 for that feature. But it sure is a better deal than the hardware solutions if viewing video in the front is all you're looking for.

Ya know, there's a reason they made it so you had to be in park w/ the parking brake applied to view the front screen...

Would you normally talk on your cell phone while applying lip stick at the same time as driving down I95 at a speed of ~90 MPH?

I just have to put the shifter in park. There are people that have to keep the parking brake applied? Wow, I didn't know that.

If I want to watch a movie on both screens.....I'll park it.

At least it doesn't do what Uconnect does when trying to "pair a phone" up while driving. It makes you confirm that you aren't the driver and are a passenger while pairing. LOL

I know...why was I doing that while driving?

When I used to sell GM products in the model year of 2007, the DVD/NAV systems would only work in drive if you hit the button twice. It still did not play the DVD unless it was in park, but the "double tap" was a safety feature to keep drivers form operating the screen, but allow the passengers to do it. In reality, it makes the driver take twice as long to execute the command.

Still, I wonder why they will allow the NAV screen to be on when moving but the DVD is turned off while moving. I know the purpose of NAV is to show you where to drive, but it is no less distracting.

I once experienced a Ford Expedition weaving all over the road several years ago. I don;t mean weaving a little bit in the lane or crossing over the dashed line a foot or two, I mean in the right lane, in the left lane, back over across the right lane and into the shoulder on the right side, off onto the dirt then over-corrected and back into the left lane. When I passed the vehicle I saw it: A woman with the visor all the way down, mirror flipped down and applying lipstick, oblivious to her surroundings. I honked and she flipped me off. Obviously I was in the wrong for infringing upon her constitutional right to kill everyone else on the road.
Two wrongs never make a right, but three lefts will.

No, but it's OK if the front-seat passenger does all that. And it should be OK for the passenger to be able to watch the movie while the vehicle is in motion too.
