It does not get driven much in the summer, so when I drove it the other day I was upset to notice a nasty musty odor. I pulled out the heavy slush mat in front of the drivers seat to find about 1/2" of water on the floor. I found the drivers side drain tube on the wiper module was totally plugged.
I pulled the carpet back and found the padding soaked and the floor rusty... this leak had been there for some time.
I pulled the under dash fuse box (and BCM) out, and found some very coroded connections. I cleanned them well and reassembled with a film of dielectric grease.
Drain tube cleared, carpet dried, connections cleaned. Hopefully... Its all set.
Whew, good! For a second after reading your subject line I was thinking "keep it clean, the kids may be reading this"
Hopefully the carpet does not have any stubborn mold. Just as a test (so that you do not find out during the next rainy spell) you might take a garden hose and soak the front end just to make sure you did get the source of the leak.
