AKABONO invented ceramic pads and is the OEM supplier of such pads to Honda, Toyota and the Super Train. I highly recommend their products.

2001 PT Cruiser Limited automatic, Goodyear TripleTread rear, Goodyear Eagle ResponseEdge front, performance sway bar bushings and front links, 9011 and 9012 bulbs, front tower bar, Centric Rotors, Akabono Ceramic Pads, front only, Champion dual plat plugs, Mopar performance plug wires.

I have used a lot of junk in my life.... I have only one thing to say about that: You get what you pay for. Are they worth the money? To me they are and they have served me very very very well.

i am not saying they are a bad pad, in fact i love them!

my main point was other ceramic options can be had for 40 to 60 dollars per axle and people are just as happy with "those" ceramics. and both pads are possibly made by the same manufacture?

is it possible that we are paying for the bloated marketing machine at napa?

Very possible. But how do you know? $80 is cheap when you compare it to $60 then another $80 to get what I wanted in the first place.

i don't know, and either do you! but thats the point: the formulas and manufactures are proprietary. (meaning success is a shot in the dark, even with napa branded products).

I had a good experience with Mopar ceramics on my 03. Some kind of rebate deal, and they had very little dust, did a good job braking, and they wore for a good long time. Like many components, they are probably manufactured by someone else for Mopar. Don't know if they're available for 5th gens, but worth evaluating.

    Smile pads

I work at a napa store the ceramic pads go for $108 diy price on the 08 caravans. I think when my pads get down i will switch to these pad. Because they will create less brake dust and will last longer. The dealership just changed my front and back pads on my 08 caravan under warranty.
