    Front Hub / Bearing

Need to replace my left front hub/bearing assembly. Searched and read the '18-minute hub change', http://forum.chryslerminivan.net/sho...nt+hub+bearing, and 'Front Hub/Bearing Assy Replacement', http://forum.chryslerminivan.net/sho...nt+hub+bearing , and even 'HOWTO-CVJoint, Ball Joint, TieRods (1994 Caravan SE', http://forum.chryslerminivan.net/sho...nt+hub+bearing. Oh and the factory service manual.

I see the old special tool C-4698 is required for the bearing seal. Is this a necessity or can you make due with other things? Don't want to buy it for a single use, or having it to replace hubs is a good thing and worth it and it doesn't cost a kidney anyway. Reuse the wear sleeve thing?
Broke the record for rain in April and May seems the same but I hope to get it done this month. It's closing in on 100,000 and it deserves at least that.

IN our area Autozone and Oreilly has free rental tools. They may have one.
If not, I've always put bearing seals in with a correctly sized socket and a rubber or leather hammer.

That seal can be done without any special tools.
Gaining access to it is the fun part, since it gets install from the axle shaft side of the knuckle.

I do need to separate the tie rod end and replace the boot that melted so maybe I'll have more room [ to get myself in trouble with ].
