OK, I popped off the rear cover. The battery is right there but won't slide out. Tried to slide a knife blade under it and ease it over the blade, but no luck. What's the trick to getting the battery out?
there is no trick to it..
you have too butcher the remote and battery.
when I received the new remotes for the mini van.
i wanted to remove the batteries from the old remotes which i did and the battery nor the old remotes faired well in the process.
I was able to remove the batteries without damaging the remotes. I used a small pair of needle nose pliers. I was able to get one of the sides under the battery, clamp onto the battery and "coax" it out. No damage to the remote whatsoever. The battery had a little indentation in it where I clamped down but it was dead anyway. I then was able to insert the new battery and with a small amount of force (about equal to what I had to use to get the old one out), it went into place.
My fobik didn't have the range it began with so I replaced the battery. The old battery did not fall out when I removed the cover so I grabbed the battery with needle-nose pliers at a spot where there is a relief in the case and pulled it out. The case was not hurt, but the battery was slightly crushed in order to grab it hard enough to pull it out.
The cover took a bit of effort to snap back in place.
I ran mine up to the dealer...they changed it in about 30 seconds...no problem...and no charge...I figured if they butchered it, then they would be on the hook!!!
