blinking yellow lights in control panel

I just bought a 1997 grand voyager 3.3. I bought it from a motorauction in UK and the battery was flat when I got.

After jump starting the car the airco turned out to be empty, so I thought that must be the reason for the flashing lights on the climate and rear wiper buttons. Filled up the airco, changed the battery, but still blinking lights.

They keep blinking for about half an hour and then they are fine. It looks like it needs a reset somewhere since the airco has been empty. I am surprised this issue is not in the present threads or at least I couldn't find it.

Any help is appreciated.

There is a fix for that but I am not sure how to link to other messages in this forum. AMD will surely do it for me.

It is a matter of setting the controls properly and holding two buttons at the same time. The heating system then does some tests and recalibrates itself then you don't get the blinkies anymore.

I had to do that to my wife's pile-o-crap when her battery died.

ahhhhh... just when I have almost forgotten about my *&*#@@ it comes up again... hope yours reset without spending $$$ , going back to therapy now....ahhhhh

Ok, I've done the diagnostic test (engine run, blower full, dial on panel, airco on full and pressed rear wiper and washer for 5 secs. The test started indeed and after a while the washer and intervalwiper went off. The recirc and A/C kept blinking though.

I've been reading all the threads and it looks like I have to run the "cooldown test" now, but...........of course nobody knows how to run the bl..... cooldown test.

At least it dealt with the wiper lights so I've gained 50%. If anybody has more suggestions I will play guinea pig

It sounds like you have the same problem I had. The only way to get them to go out is to have the stealership flash the eprom... bring your wallet and they will turn out the flashy lights for you... argghhh.. and you get to pay even though its their fault... sweet... have fun.. Ben
