I have tried everything I know to try and have searched the web to figure out if there is a way that we can listen to the radio while someone in the back is watching a DVD? The system automatically plays the DVD sound through the speakers when a DVD is in. We would like for the kids to listen to the DVD on the headsets and us listen to the radio over the speakers.

We are planning a trip to disney world and I don't think I can stand to listen to disney movies for 12 hours, please help...

Can you please tell us what the code on the corner of your radio is? For example mine is RBU.

For what it's worth, most of dvd players control the headphones. Hitting the "headphone" button on the remote will give control back to the radio for the front speakers, and headphones get dvd source only.

The RBU has a headphone button on the radio itself that lets the headphones and front speakers use whatever source is available (ie: headphones could listening to the dvd, or a different radio station, tape, or cd)

Also what year van and is the DVD player separate (like 6 disc Changer) or in the radio itself.... i.e. which is why ratsttam asked what radio code you have

In our van you have to use the headphone button on the remote. Get the DVD playing on the TV (the actual show, not the menu or previews) and then hit the headphone button and you can switch to the radio.

What is funny is that you could swear there are no kids back there when they have the headphones on. It truly is a cool system.

I suppose it depends upon which radio you have. I have a 2007 Grand Voyager which is, I suppose, a Grand Caravan with an export badge. If the kisd are watching a DVD (and you can load 5 or so) they can adjust headset volume with the remote, you just have to cycle away from DVD to CD or radio using the switch on the radio that selects these things, it is on the left somewhere. I think DVD is automatically selected when you load a DVD but changing to CD or radio does not affect the DVD headphone audio...

Of course you may have a different radio, but the principal is likely the same if it is a Chrysler system

Ciao
