I wonder if your fans are bad. The fans are wired together so if one comes on (given enough power is available?) the other will be right with it.

I was thinking the same thing. If one is on, the other should run as well. I havent driven yet to the point where the PCM commands the fans on since replacing the relay. Probably should've done that first.

Great. Finally drove it today and I just got a P0118 (Coolant Temp Circuit High Input)and P1491 DTC. Im guessing the new relay got toasted. Fans didnt work.
Also, I checked the feedback for the ebay seller I bought from and it looks like a number of buyers for that relay returned them back to the seller.

Both of my gen 3 fans are working properly and the fan on the left side turns ON with the coolant sensor and the fan on the right side turns ON with the A/C
I don't think they're both wired together, or are mine the only ones that do this?

Must be different designs. I have good experience with the fans as I retrofitted a spare set of 3rd gen fans onto my GTO in my sig. The fans were wired together and come on at the same time. Also when watching my van, both come on at the same time. There were slight design changes between the 96-97 and 98-00 vans.

Yea the passenger side or right side fan wasnt working. Yea Im pretty sure that fan fried the new relay and the previous OEM relay.

Anyone whos overheating and fans arent working should first jump the Gray and Green wires at the relay harness to see if both fans work at the same time. If not, first replace the fan assembly then the relay.
