Hi Everyone,

My left rear turn signal is out. I gather it is something I can do myself. Can anyone give me instructions on how to replace it?

Thanks!

you need a trox driver to take the tail light out. I don't recall what size you need but i know it's a trox bit or driver. there should be a rubber flap over the screws. Once you remove the screws the tail light should be able to remove the light then twist the socket and pull the light bulb out. once you are done that replace bulb with new one and reverse steps.

My wife went to pick up the bulb on the way home and a guy from the auto parts store offered to do it. ( BTW, he replaced it just the way you guys said to )

He told her that the socket is rotting out. This is the second bulb in the last 6 months.

Guess there's just no way of avoiding dealer service!

Thanks for your help.

Some sockets are separate plug ins, like for the front signal/park lights on my Jeep. Don't know about yours, the socket may be a fixed part of the light assembly. Take a look see.

Ironically, my left unit burned out too. So I changed them both out at the same time to ensure the brightness was the same.

As this bulb is the turn and brake light, it was real easy to swap out.

That really isn't necessary. On such bulbs they often just go out via filament breakage. Swapping out both sets of brake pads or tires, yes, but bulbs...well, I've never heard of that. It's kinda like a 1000 mile oil change.

I have a 2010 Grand Caravan. To change the rear signal bulb was a hassle as I didn't have a torx screwdriver. After much searching, I found a set at Princess Auto. The 2 screws require a torx #30. With that, you just take out the 2 screws and wiggle out the tail-light assembly. You can access the both the signal bulb and brake bulb from the housing.
